* I'm lost without you , ( CAN'T HELP MYSELF ) -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- - Jason hopped out of the shower. He called out Chris's name just to make sure everything was alright with him. Once he answered back, Jason made his way into his room. He already had his outfit laid out on his bed. So, he slipped that on and looked in his mirror. He sprayed himself with cologne that Violet liked and smoothed out his hair. Tonight he would be heading over to Violet's house. He was pretty excited for this. Once he looked as good as he was going to be, he headed downstairs. Chris was sprawled out on the couch in the living room, watching Spongebob. JD was never to fond of Spongebob, he thought he was really annoying. But, he didn't stop his son from watching what he wanted to watch. "Ready to go, bud?" He called from the kitchen as he grabbed his car keys. "Yup!" Chris answered, shutting off the t.v. He walked into the kitchen with a little backpack on his back. It had a couple of video games in it and pajamas. Jason was going to drop off Chris at Evan's for the night. He would have picked him up after he left Violet's, but Chris wanted to spend the night.
They walked out and headed towards the car. Jason made sure to lock the front door first. He hopped in the driver's seat, and Chris hopped in the back. Once the seat belts were on, Jason started up the engine and pulled out of his driveway. He arrived at Evan's house fifteen minutes later. He cut the engine and walked up to Evan's door with Chris. He rang the doorbell and Evan came to the door. He thanked Evan once again for babysitting, said goodbye to the both of them, and turned to head back to the car. "Dad!" Chris called out. Jason looked back. "Tell Violet I said hi!" He said with a smile. Jason smiled back and nodded. He got in his car and started the engine back up. He gave one last look at Evan's house before he pulled out onto the street. He had one more stop before Violet's house. He picked up a bouquet of roses for her. He placed it on the passenger's side seat and was finally on his way to Violet's.
He had first met Violet at the hospital. Christopher had an extremely high fever, so Jason took him to the hospital. Violet had taken care of Chris. Jason had thought she was beautiful when he first saw her, but didn't even think that they would see each other after Chris was out of the hospital. Christopher ended up staying in the hospital for a couple of days. Jason had taken work off to stay by his son's side. That also meant he saw Violet a lot too. He didn't mind that at all. They had gotten to talk during those days and had common interests. Finally, Chris was feeling better and was allowed to go home. Jason and Chris said goodbye to Violet. But, she had stopped them for a second. She did something bold. Something that Jason definitely wasn't expecting. She asked Jason if he wanted to go out and grab something to eat or have a few drinks together. Well, Jason definitely wasn't going to turn her down. She was beautiful. They hit it off and enjoyed themselves. Now, here they are today, going on a real date this time though. Jason really likes her, but isn't sure about really getting involved. He always has Chris in mind. And although Chris and himself are very fond of Violet, Jason isn't sure they will last as long as he would like them to. He knows that would disappoint Chris and he wouldn't want to do that to him.
Jason pulled up to Violet's house. He grabbed the bouquet, shut off the engine, and headed to her front door. He rang the doorbell and waited. He looked at the bouquet, making sure it looked perfect. He leaned against the railing and waited for Violet to answer the door. He tried to be sexy about it for when she opened the door and saw him. But, he had no clue what he looked like from her point of view. For all he knew, he looked like a complete tool. He hoped not though. When the door swung open, he said with a smirk, "Geez. Took you long enough."

-- why can't you see? -- you belong with me. The day had started out just fine. Violet had gotten up shortly after her alarm had buzzed for the first time, but seeing as how she was still tired, she hit the snooze button. Five minutes had never felt so short. Her shift was going to be easy, she knew that from the get-go. It was usually when her boss was out of town. Doctor Olsen had been the head peds doctor since before George Washing crossed the Delaware. And yet, his age was showing with each passing day. Though still capable of doing mostly anything, he wasn't the best with little children, or with his staff, whom he was quick to repremand at the slightest thing. Whenever he entered a room, someone had to go with him just to calm the kids down. He just looked like a monster with his six inch graying eyebrows that needed a weed whacker to trim them, and his nose hair was less than desirable to look up at. And his breathe--gah! It was horrible. But, until the first of October, Doctor Olsen and his wife of a hundred and fifty years went to their little vacation home in Nantucket. So luckily, Violet and everyone else at the Children's Hospital in Milwaukee would have great shifts without the tension Doctor Olsen caused. Or, at least she hoped for it.
Arriving at her desk a little before eight o'clock that morning, she was greeted by several of the older nurses. They didn't say anything per se, but they gave her "the look". And this look, Violet knew exactly what it was about. She had--stupidly--told a few of her friends that Jason would be coming over tonight. And so, everyone there decided to pester her until she would give them details about what she would be wearing, what she would be making, what they would be doing "after dinner". Things like that. But she refused to give anything away, party just because she had no idea what she would be wearing, baking or doing, and partly because for the rest of her entire shift, any time she would walk past one of the nurses, she would hear little comments about what she should do to "keep her man happy". The nurses words, not hers.
Finally as the new arrivals for the night shift came in around six, Violet took her leave, but not quietly. Everyone, including Miss Josephine, the head nurse and the classic and stereotypical nurse--late fifties, motherly and overweight--all made various comments and whistling sounds. But Violet simply ignored them, whipping her hair back and then giving them the same look they had been giving her the entire day, much to everyone's pleasure or chagrin. Arriving at her house a little less then twenty minutes later, she made a bee-line for her bedroom. Flinging her clothes off carelessly, she headed straight to the shower and took a quick one. Wrapping a towel around herself, she headed towards the kitchen where she checked the slow-roaster where her pot roast smelled delicious and she heard her stomach growl.
Quickly running back into her bedroom, she took her time putting on her clothes while she thought. Visions of Jason Fields and his adorable little boy, Christopher, flashed through her mind. She had never expected to fall for anyone, especially after her rather rocky ending with her ex Jared had ended about three years ago. A few little relationships had come and gone, but nothing very serious. It was just the way Jason was with his son, it made her heart melt and she feel head-over-heels for him almost instantly. Yet, he had been rather reluctant, but Violet was determined. And being the youngest of four children with an Irish father, she got her way or it was the highway. It had taken a little longer with Jason, but she knew she would have him. Though, she didn't like to think of him as property. Coming to as she heard her doorbell, she ran a comb through her dark hair once more and then walked calmly to the door.
Smiling as she saw Jason with flowers as he leaned up against the door, she tried not to laugh at his remark. Instead she took a step towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I could say the same thing about you."
she said with a playfully serious tone, after pressing her lips gently to his. "Are these for me? They're beautiful, but you didn't have to get me anything. You are quite a lovely gift yourself Mister Fields." Violet asked, looking down at the flowers before she let go of his neck and began to walk in, taking his free hand in hers, leading him inside. ---------------------------------------------------------- tagged: me, i guess. threads: herenotes: i know, i'm excited! and, man, it's been so long since i've had to look for girlie clothes on polyvore. words: seven eighty-eight.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

* I'm lost without you , ( CAN'T HELP MYSELF ) -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- - Jason smiled into their kiss, so happy to see Violet again. He placed his free hand on her waist. She was so sweet with the things she said. "Thanks, but I figured you deserved a little more." He said to her with a little smile. He let his fingers intertwine with hers as she led him inside. Immediately, the smell of her cooking surrounded him. Smelled like pot roast. Delicious pot roast at that. "Wow, smells great in here." He said walking further into Violet's house. Her home was so cozy and nice to Jason. Not to mention, pretty clean. Definitely cleaner than Jason's. Although Violet would never know because he always made sure the place looked immaculate before she came over. It was probably unusual since two boys live there, but he'd rather she be surprised in a good way than in a bad way.
"You look beautiful, Vi." Jason said to her, smiling. He meant it of course. Just like he did every time he told her. He couldn't help but give her that constant reminder. Not that she needed it. She was a very confident woman, and Jason liked that about her. Along with other things that made her really stand out from the other girls he's been with. There aren't too many, but even so. After a couple of moments, Jason realized he was still hanging onto her roses. A little odd in his opinion. "Oh um. You wanna go put these in water or something?" He said, extending the hand holding the bouquet out to her. He felt a little embarrassed for the fact that he was just holding onto them as if they were his. He couldn't take care of plants. Stella had made that clear. Stella. Geez, this moment was definitely not the best to be thinking about her. So, he pushed her out of his thoughts and focused on only Violet.
Jase wandered into the kitchen, and the smell of the pot roast increased. Her kitchen smelt wonderful. It made him so much more hungry. He turned to face Violet. "Soo, is this food done? I'm starving." He asked. He had been saving his appetite for tonight. His lunch had been a very light one so he would have enough room for dinner. Right now he was regretting that decision because this hunger was just torture, plus the great aroma. He leaned against the counter top, just looking at Violet. Not in a creepy way though. More admiringly. He felt pretty lucky to be with her right now. But what didn't add up was the fact that he still wasn't sure if it would be a good idea to take it further. She seemed so perfect for him. And Chris. But he still had doubts. To him, the doubts made perfect sense. But to everyone else, they were nonsense and a bogus excuse. Jason sometimes wished he felt the same way just so he would understand them. The last thing he would want to do is ruin a perfect relationship.

-- why can't you see? -- you belong with me. Violet simply smiled as if she was a kid in a candy store who had just been told she could buy whatever she wanted, money was no object. The touch of Jason's fingers around hers, the feel of his lips and how they didn't recoil as she had pressed them to his, the steady, reliable thud in his chest from his heart. It all felt like it was meant to be with them. Nothing felt forced or awkward; nothing felt confined or as if they needed to watch out for some unspoken word or action that, if said or done, would bring the entire moment to a close and nothing would ever be the same again. "Aww. Always such a gentlemen. Thank you, Jason. You don't look too bad yourself." she said as she gave him another quick kiss before heading off to her kitchen and rummaging through the cabinets for a vase.
"Thank you. It's my grandmother's recipe. I called my mom up today and told her you were coming. She said to tell you and Chris hello." she told Jason, pouring the water into the vase as she put the flowers in, making sure each flower had enough water. She had thought about telling Jason that her mother had also asked when she would be seeing a grandchild and which foods to eat that were good for concepiton, to which Violet had simply scoffed and then changed the subject to ask if her father was taking his high blood pressure medication. But Jason seemed to be thinking about something else, so she decided to not mention it. Knowing Jason it would only ruin his entire night. She was glad of the change in subject to when they would be eating. Typical man. she thought. Always wanting to know when they were going to eat. But, she had to admit it, the pot roast did smell pretty good.
"How about we'll eat now, since you're soo hungry, you poor widdle baby. It's ready anyway."
she told him, taking the top off the slow cooker as the steam escaped out. "By the way, one of my co-workers gave me this wine. She said it's really good, so we can have that if you want. It's in the fridge. And you must take some of this home to Chris. God only knows that Evan is feeding your son donuts and Chinese food or something horrid that only a bachelor thinks is a well-rounded meal." she said as she handing Jason a plate piled high with cooked carrots, cabbage, potatoes and roasted beef as she started to make herself a plate. Though truth be told she had no qualms with Evan, as she once used to eat donuts and Chinese food practically every meal. "We'll eat in the living room. I feel too old to eat on the dining room table. And it's only us." Violet said, following behind Jason. Though unaware of it in the kitchen, she now realized that she had practically dominated the entire conversation since Jason had arrived. She sat on the couch so her body could face entirely towards Jason, her shoes slipping off as she crossed her legs Indian style, holding her plate in her lap. She waited a few moments as she watched Jason eat. Jason reminded her so much of his son, and if it weren't for the fact that Jason was Christopher's father, she could have sworn he was someone else's kid. There faces as were so similar and the little things they did; things they said, it was obvious they meant a lot to each other. Taking a sip of her wine, she put it down on the little black side table beside the couch. "So, Jason, it's safe to say that I have established dominance in the field of babbling and handing out directions, so let's hear about your day. Tell me what you did, and tell me about Christopher. I miss him so much. Next time he should come." she asked, her face keenly interested in what Jason was thinking. ---------------------------------------------------------- tagged: mister jason dallas fields. aka sam. threads: herenotes: so i kinda g-modded the bit about the wine, but now jason must have wine! muawawa! or at least he needs to bring some for vi. and i feel like my posts are so much longer than they really are. gahh, i must be losing it. lol. words: seven sixteen.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

* I'm lost without you , ( CAN'T HELP MYSELF ) -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- - Jason smiled when Violet returned the compliment. He nodded when Violet said that her mother said hello to him and Chris. He had met Violet's mother before, and seen her about twice after. She was a sweet lady and seemed to like him. "Tell her we said hello. Oh, and Chris wanted me to tell you he said hi." He said. Thinking about that moment made Jase smile a little. "I was walking back to the car and he walked back outside to tell me." He added. He thought it was pretty cute of the little guy. It showed that he really did like Violet. And as excited as Chris was to be staying over Evan, Jason knew Chris had really wanted to tag along to Vi's house. He would love to bring Chris along, but it was nice for them two to just be alone for once. They'd be other days for it to be all three of them. That was for sure.
Jason rolled his eyes jokingly when Violet called him a "poor widdle baby". "Yeah, yeah. You know your hungry too." He said to her.He always found it cute when girls would playfully tease him. It showed that they had great personalities, and you definitely needed that to be with Jason. He took the plate from Violet. He saw a lot of carrots and cabbage. He was pretty sure Christopher wasn't going to eat that. He placed it on the counter in the corner. He laughed a little. He could imagine Evan and Chris sitting on the couch, staring at the t.v, eating junk food, and only speaking during commercials. Hah, good times. He took out two wine glasses. "I'll see if I can get him to eat the pounds of vegetables you slammed on there." He said with a little smirk as he poured the wine into the glasses. After Violet served herself, he did the same for himself. He couldn't wait to taste the meat. He grabbed his wine glass and plate and followed Violet into her living room. He sat down next to her, putting a bent leg up on the couch so his upper body faced Vi.
The first thing he took a piece of was the roast. Just as he had expected, it was delicious. After that, he dug into everything else. He was glad Violet knew how to cook. He looked up when Violet began to speak. He picked up his wine glass and took a sip before he answered her. Hm, her co-worker was right. He wasn't a big wine drinker, but it tasted good to him. Jason hadn't even thought Violet had been talking most of the time. He didn't mind it, he loved hearing her voice. He was glad to hear that she was interested in how his day went. "Well, today at the center we had a new kid. Richie. About 5 minutes after he was dropped off, he had gotten into a fist fight. It was insane, I had to break it up. We didn't even end up keeping him, he had to be transported. I just couldn't believe he didn't even last a day." Jason began, picturing the kid's bloody face. He couldn't believe his face started bleeding so easily. Jason had broken them up pretty much instantly. "Then I finally came home and hung out with Chris. Then, got him ready for Evan's. Then, I got myself ready to see my babe. Dropped off Chris, and now here I am." He said with a little smile.
Jason continued to eat before he began to talk about his son. "Christopher has been good though. I find it amazing how much he likes school. Although that won't last. And I will bring him next time. He didn't tell me so, but I know he wanted to tag along tonight. At least he's at Evan's and not stuck at my mom's doing nothing." He said with a little shrug. Jase knew he couldn't do that to Chris. His mom loved her grandson to death, and he loved her back, but her house was boring as hell. Especially for a little seven year old with lots of energy. It wasn't a good combination and usually resulted in Christopher getting in trouble. "I wanna hear about your day, though." He said to Violet, looking up from his plate. He grabbed his wine glass to take a few more sips. He was done talking about himself, he wanted to hear Violet's day now. He looked at her for a while without doing anything else. He thought of how well they went together. They were completely comfortable around each other and had things in common. It made Jason smile to himself, just thinking about it.
