Melrose didn't know whether or not to believe that things were going to be okay that night. She'd suffered through countless reassurances from Noah, every time she'd asked him whether or not he was well enough to go out perform. It was so soon, you couldn't blame her. The boy was only one and a half weeks detached from his accident, and the doctor, while he hadn't said that Noah wasn't fit to perform, had told them that he should be very careful and think before he did anything that was overly exhausting. Rose was worried, because anything could happen. The night could go off without a hitch, or there could be some sort of catastrophe. Knowing their luck, it would probably end up being the latter of the two. Rose spent the entire day around the boys, through their sound check, eyes practically glued to Noah as she gauged his expressions and his movements. He truly did look fine, and for a few moments Rose wondered if she was just over reacting. But then she corrected herself. It was better safe than sorry, right? Noah meant way too much to her to go into this thinking everything was just going to magically be okay. Her nervousness grew to a peak as the night wore on, and finally, it was ten minutes before they were about to be called to the stage. Damien and Noah had already their preparatory moments together, and now it was Melrose's turn to have a few words. She walked up to him, putting her hands gently on his face as she turned it so his eyes could meet hers. She searched them for a long moment, before finally asking softly, "Are you sure you're okay? Are you sure you can do this?"
It was clear in her tone how worried she was, and the concern shown brightly in her expression. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - LOCATION: a stadium/venue thing near milwaukee STATUS: done TAGGED: noah christian september <3 LISTENING TO: time to pretend, mgmt NOTES: asdfsjdfklj rose is so worried. xD OUTFIT: here [/blockquote] [/blockquote][/color]

It had been merely a week and a half after Noah had finally gotten out of the hospital. He'd been pleased to find that he'd managed to scrape by without any major damage to his body. He'd had a concussion, a few fractured ribs, stitches in his forehead and on his left forearm, and cuts and bruises all over. But really, it could have been so much worse. At least he didn't have any broken bones. He'd been so afraid that he would have been unable to go up on stage for a long time. But he was lucky. Besides, Noah had made sure to rest up as much as possible in that week and a half. And he'd convinced everyone that he was healing at a rapid rate. In a sense, he supposed he was. But he knew he wasn't completely healed. When the doctor hadn't forbade him from going on stage, he knew that he could do it. it didn't matter that his ribs still ached, or that he grew tired fairly easily. The young man was determined to get back out there and finish the tour. Nothing was going to stop him from that. Not even a car accident. Maybe it was fate that the next scheduled performance was right outside of Milwaukee. This meant that Rose would be able to attend. But this also meant that Rose would be able to worry over him like an overprotective mother. It was merely minutes before showtime. Everyone was prepared for their entrance on stage and Melrose pulled him aside. He saw the worry in her eyes before she even spoke. He removed his hands from the guitar that hung on his shoulder and placed his hands over top of hers, bringing them down from his face. "Yes, Rose. I'm fine. I can do this. I have to." He moved a hand up to push a piece of her hair out of her eyes. "Don't worry so much." He then gave her a swift kiss before he was forced to leave her to go on stage. Truthfully, he knew he wasn't as good as he was going to be. But he'd figured it was enough. After all, he'd been fine during the soundcheck. But he did have to admit that he was still tired from it. But he wouldn't let that stop him. He had fans to please, after all. The first half of the show went by easily. He didn't seem to be having too much trouble. But once the second half hit, he was starting to feel the effects. It was becoming harder and harder to push out the words and his ribs were on fire from the effort. His vision began to blur slightly, but he merely blinked it back. Noah was determined to finish the show. No matter what. He could tell that Damien was starting to notice his lack of energy, but he merely gave him the look that told him that everything was okay. When it was finally over, a sense of relief washed through the young man. He could go home and relax after this. Melrose had been worrying for nothing. But as he began to walk off stage, he felt himself wavering slightly. He hadn't wanted to admit it, but maybe something was wrong. Somehow he made it backstage, a technician taking his guitar from him. Tired eyes searched for the familiar face of his girlfriend and she arrived seconds after he called her name in his mind. His breathing was ragged as he opened his mouth to speak to her, but no words came out. In an instant, the weariness he'd been fighting to push back overcame him and he collapsed forward into her arms.

Though she might worry like an overprotective mother, you couldn't blame the girl. Noah September was everything to her, the only thing she really had left in her life to tie her down and keep her stable. If anything happened to him, she didn't know what she would do. Be reduced to a withering heap, most likely. It was silly to be so dependent on one person, but the feisty young woman couldn't help it. Though she thought of herself as fiercely independent, she was more reliant on Noah than anyone might expect. She truly did love him too much to be healthy. He occupied her thoughts every second of every day: that was obsession. But it was an obsession that made her happy, because she knew that Noah was just as obsessed with her. Though, he might use another word, like devotion. Rose liked to call it what it was: obsession. But that was okay, either way. Because they knew that as long as they had each other, everything would be fine. Rose wanted Noah to be happy, so as he finally left her to go on stage, she bit back any last words of protest. This completed him, and she knew it. She watched as he left, then went to watch their performance. Rose watched Noah with a hawk's eye, and noticed immediately when he started lagging. She wished so badly she could go out on stage and get him, but she couldn't do that. Finally, after looking at him trying so hard not to let on that he was hurting and lagging so greatly, the show ended. Melrose hurried went back stage, her dark eyes searching frantically for Noah. Maybe he was just tired and needed to rest, and that would be the extent of the damage. Finally, her eyes caught his figure as a technician took his guitar, and she hurried to him. Her hands reached for him as he tried to open his mouth, her eyes taking in his ragged breathing. She was about to say something when he collapsed in her arms. She wasn't a very tiny girl, and didn't have the strength to hold him up. However, she was able to break his fall, and they both slid gently to the ground. Instantly, there was a commotion. Damien was by her side, hands under Noah's head, propping it up, and Rose was frantically calling his name. Instantly, her mind snapped into action, and she was calling out orders. You, over by the door. Yes, you! Get me a bottle of water now! or Get me a towel! No, a cold one, idiot! One that's warm isn't going to help! She would apologize later for her sharp tone, but right now hurting someone's feelings wasn't on her mind. What was on her mind was how pale Noah looked, how is breathing was still slightly labored. After a cold towel was delivered to her, she place it gently on the back of his neck, laying his head down in his lap. Give him some room! She ordered, and people began to back away. Her hands rested gently on his cheeks, and Damien told her he would be back with someone to help. She watched him as he left, fear striking her deeply. He wasn't ready, he should have listened to her! Melrose would be sure to give him hell about it later. "Noah.. wake up. Noah..."
She called to him, her chocolate gaze roving over his face, searching for any signs of consciousness. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - LOCATION: a stadium/venue thing near milwaukee STATUS: done TAGGED: noah christian september <3 LISTENING TO: quiet, demi lovato NOTES: LOL. Noah September knew why it was that Melrose Ortega was so protective of him. Truthfully, it was kind of nice. Even her constant asking him if he was alright, or hovering by his side as if her were about to pass out weren't as annoying as they would have been had it been anyone else. But there was something special about her. She was, after all, his one and only. That may have sounded terribly cheesy, but it didn't make it any less true. He knew that if anything were to happen to her, he would fall completely apart. And he was beginning to suspect that the same rule went for her. As watchful and as careful as she was with him, he couldn't help but realize that she was much more devoted to him than he had originally known. Just as she was everything to him, he must have been everything to her. It was a strange kind of pressure that he'd never had on his shoulders before. Noah was far from perfect, that was for sure. And he never would be. But it almost felt like she expected him to be. Though, if she was looking for a perfect being, she would probably be looking for the rest of her life. However, maybe, just maybe, he was enough. After all, she treated him as such. Would it really be so bad to let himself believe that someone truly cared for him? Maybe even needed him? His low self-esteem had always prevented such thoughts, but it might just have been time to let them come filing through. Even as he exited off stage, searching desperately for her beautiful face, he was wondering just how affected she would be if he showed any signs of weakness. But it was proving harder and harder by the second to keep up his façade. He didn't know where Damien was, and honestly the only person he was concerned with was Rose. She always made him feel better, no matter what. As his dark eyes met hers, the relief he felt must have been his undoing. It was all he could do to keep his entire weight from falling on her before he simply blacked out. Though, he wasn't completely gone. He felt himself jerking in and out of consciousness. Noah heard Melrose's frantic voice as she called his name and undoubtedly spoke to other people. He couldn't feel his own body even as he desperately tried to stand up again. It seemed his motor skills had all but deserted him. His vision was returned to him slightly and the blurry image of her face entered his mind. She was calling his name again. He needed to answer her. "Rose." He managed to say just above a whisper. "Please... don't be... mad." He tried once again to move his body, but failed miserably. This was when things went dark once again.
